  Open Streets Brentwood  
  Open Streets BRENTWOOD will be held along a 1.3 mile stretch of the Brownsville Road corridor, from Brentwood Park to just before the intersection of Route 51. The road will be closed to all motorized traffic so pedestrians, rollerbladers, cyclists, skateboarders and other forms of human-powered transportation can enjoy the street as a public space. There will be a myriad of activities for participants ranging in age from toddlers to seniors. Music, games, activities, demonstrations and sidewalk sales are all planned to be part of the experience. Businesses along the corridor will be encouraged to join in the fun and take advantage of increased foot traffic.

EDS is coordinating the planning for Open Streets BRENTWOOD and has begun outreach to individuals, organizations and businesses that could be a part of the activity on October 17, including volunteer recruitment. Corridor Communities, an initiative of Economic Development South, along with the Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce and the Brentwood Business Owners Association, participates in this yearly tradition by raising funds to support community projects and efforts throughout the communities of Baldwin, Bethel Park, Brentwood, Whitehall, Mt. Oliver, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills; and the City of Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Carrick, Overbrook, and Brookline. Help us support the important work of these organizations by pledging to help us make life better in the South Hills.   Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit the Auxiliary of the Sisters of St Francis of the Providence of God  
  The Auxiliary of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on Sunday, April 10 from 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM at the Nativity Parish, located at 5811 Curry Road in South Park. Each meal is $10 and includes freshly prepared spaghetti, a salad, roll, drink and dessert. Meals for children under age 10 are $5. A take out option is also available. All proceeds from the Spaghetti Dinner go toward the Auxiliary’s efforts to support the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God.
